STEP ONE

Measure and cut pieces. So you’re going to set your miter saw to 60 degrees and cut a scrap piece of wood to use as a stop for your cuts. Then you’re going to mark three inches from the edge of your board. Cut off the end at 60 degrees. Then measure and mark three inches. Clamp your stop on the miter fence, aligning it with your three inch mark. Then tighten the clamp and cut 12 pieces of wood. Flip your board and cut that remaining 90 degree angle to 60 degrees. Set your miter saw back to 0 degrees and cut that remaining piece in half. To ensure your pieces are properly aligned, lay them out on the end of a table, marking where they meet the edge. Cut your miter saw to 30 degrees and cut the end pieces so the foot rests flat on that table. After you’ve made all your cuts, lightly hand sand your pieces to smooth any rough spots.

STEP TWO

Glue. Make sure you put on your nitrile gloves and apply a small amount of fast-drying wood glue on the end of two pieces and join them together. Then hold for 30 seconds and then proceed to the next piece. When all of your 30 degree pieces are attached, you’ll have 12 in all. Secure each end piece with glue. Next let dry for 30 minutes before you move on to this next step.

STEP THREE

Sand. Sand the entire stand with 50 grit sandpaper. Then get a damp rag and wipe the surface of the wood to raise the grain. This will help you get a better finish. Once dry, finish sanding with 150 then 220 grit sandpaper.

STEP FOUR

Finish. Generously apply mineral oil to the entire surface of your stand. Add tacos and your project is complete. Dig in!
